Rare and quite beautiful, these Murano Calcedonia Glass earrings are works of art! In Murano, Italy, there are only two furnaces that use this rare Calcedonia glass technique to produce these beads.
The colors of Calcedonia glass resemble the stripes in a zoned agate. These unpredictable colors are created through the introduction of silver nitrate to crystal clear glass. The colors cannot be controlled since the colors depend solely upon the chemical reaction of each batch making each batch unique.
The featured gorgeous pair of beads are in opaque white Murano glass with multi-colored swirls and speckled with broken 24kt gold foil. They are 18mm x 18mm in size. I have highlighted them with Swarovski Crystal beads, 14kt gold filled Stardust beads and 14kt gold filled bead caps. They are securely wire wrapped to 14kt gold filled lever back ear wires.
These earrings are large enough to be seen, but not too large or heavy...you will treasure these earrings forever! Their total length is 1-7/8 inches.
